is anyone else having trouble with the "no spamming" message coming up when you send a post, forcing you to go back through the formum home page, etc? it has been happening to me with increasing frequency of late, perhaps as often as three times a day.

We have had a few people email us off forum about this, I'm not sure what it is, maybe Brock would have a better idea.
Our forum software - does - have an anti spam feature, its allows (if I recall) 5 posts with in a two minutes.

Obviously to stop spammers and MP
Regardless, We do apologize if it has caused any problems.

Yes, there is a threshold of not allowing you to make more than X posts in Y units of time. I don't remember what the numbers are but I don't think too many people are getting caught by this.

If so I can adjust them.

brock, i've received the message after the first post of the day, or of a session. the time and conditional logic do not appear to be working as they should. and the message which triggers the "no spam" is always posted anyway.

Once in a great while I get it too on a first post or first one in say, a couple hours. Not a biggie, just FYI.

I've only seen it if I try multiple posts.

I know this is going to sound completely stupid... but how up to date is your OS?

I had some very odd problems with the forum a while back and installed all of my missing service packs and that took care of it.

Exactly my experience- about 50% of the time I post...and I don't type quickly enough to get more than one message every few minutes.
It's definitely a problem.

This may sound stupid to you, but some folks think you shouldn't have to bow down to Microsoft every few weeks for the latest 'improvement'- which generally involves installing MS-spyware in your system. I'm using Firefox, not IE anyway.

There are definitely problems with the forum software, and you should be getting better support from the writers.

BTW, got the spamming message when I put up my previous post (first of the day).

I don't know... I think the forum software is pretty decent all things considering. We clearly know what its short-comings are, and certainly an upgrade is in our future.

But all in all I have been pretty happy with it.

You clearly didn't see the last version of the OLF.

I'm using Firefox also and I used Netscape for about 10 months and it has never happened on my computer unless I caused it by posting to quick.

I only get it when I spam people! Dag Frazegurgle Frimit

I've had it happen twice, and it was by double clicking the post button! Usually the buttons are operated by the program predefined function on_mouse_button_up!

Your clicking may be bouncing the micro switch inside your mizzouse! Try a different mouse and see if that gets it!

i have had the problem on three different computers, a tower with ms mouse and two hp laptops with touch pads.
